The year 2008-09 has been very successful for Smayate in terms of results obtained through Konnankopplu Govt School. The quality of education, the environment in which these students study, teacher’s co-operation/leadership and the villager’s support have been extrapolated high with the continuous effort from the members. This has caused the neighboring villages to look up to Smayate to support their school and children’s education through quality, professionalism and motivation.

Mr. Shankar, the newly appointed headmaster of Govt School Manchinahalli, an adjacent village to Koonankoppalu has made a humble request to Smayate to carry out similar work at their school. We have agreed to this and Smayate is going full fledged in extending its services to this school. Smayate will officially support two schools from this year, both from Malavalli taluq of Mandya district.

On August 15^th 2009, the Manchinahalli project got kicked off with the Independence Day celebrations. A few members visited Manchanahalli School to attend the Independence Day program and make an official announcement to the school staff & villagers regarding Smayate’s support. School students performed on stage cultural activities like singing, dance and skit duly supported by the school staff.

The school provides primary education to the children from 1^st to 5^th standard and has about 150 students attending the classes.

Smayate is initially monitoring the activities in this school and take necessary steps as to what developments need to be made in this School. Currently, we have identified a few village volunteers and entrusted them with the responsibility of tracking the progress of each student. In a phased manner we will implement the plans which have been doing for Koonanakoppalu School to make it successful.

The village volunteers are daily teaching evening classes to the Manchinahalli school students. These classes are organized with the support of Smayate at school premises.

• Sports day: 26th Jan 2010
  • As a part of our overall education and development activities, smayate has been succesfully organising quarterly programs at these schools to motivate the children to attend the schools and to encourage their parents for their bright future.Few of the programs organised at the koonankoplu school in the past were Sports day, Health day, School day and Environment day. We are starting off similar kind of activities at the manchinahalli school by organising the Sports day on 26th JAN 2010.

  • We had Independence day celebrations at Manchinahalli school. The school authorities conduted a few cultural and sports events. We distributed books and stationary to all students.
